The food is good but the portions are a bit small for the money!

A somewhat old-fashioned restaurant with an excellent kitchen at a good price. Avg 80 euros for two people ... starter, main dessert and drink. Reservations necessary if you want to eat at x time. Service is ok .. nice and service oriented but not always efficient. Corona rich lines were followed well.

30 minutes until the menu came up, 1 hour and 20 minutes until the starter. This onion soup is just warm, not hot, the fried potatoes are soft and too salty. The meat was really great, but that's not enough, I can cook it myself. According to the claim conveyed on the website, a real disappointment. Oh yes: it is only possible to pay in cash, that's probably written somewhere at the entrance (but not mentioned when reserving a table - that's the guest's problem) General attitude of the boss: We always and only do everything right. You can do it like that, but certainly never with us again. Is just not worth the money.

Very nice, quaint and historic house. Very friendly staff, with a lot of humor. Eating was a pleasure.

The Rur Cafe restaurant is convincing! A very good selection of local dishes and drinks, excellent service, nice and competent, and excellent quality of the food. All in a cozy atmosphere. I can only recommend

Wow what fantastic food is served here. Rump steak, deer steak and iberico all of top quality. Neat explanation about the menu which helped us with the choice.

We were received by the boss 😞 Not a good day, we asked if we could still eat, it was 13:00! Then came an unfriendly look from her and then the answer: The hammer! The kitchen is closed at the moment, but you can still eat, sit down here with a commanding tone 🤮 So we already had no more appetite and then went out 😞 According to the home page, the restaurant is open until 15:00 and the kitchen is open until 13:15, so we were good in time! So not to be recommended !!!!!

Sunday, busy, queue because of Covid-19, old-fashioned interior as so often in Germany, but heavenly, what a delicious meal. The best pork in years, Iberico cutlet, terribly tasty baked potatoes, a bottle of Dornfelder on the side, totally happy.

Nice clear map. All the dishes ordered were delicious. In advance there was a tomato soup with chillinote as a greeting from the kitchen ... the service was very attentive. It's recommended

Schnitzel was good, spareribs absolutely tough and not recommendable. Staff complain about guests while sitting next to them. Not a good mood.

The kitchen can do something: high quality and very tasty food. Probably the best kitchen in Monschau You have to cut back on service. Waiting at the door and in the stairwell is unreasonable. Of course, the entrance has to be controlled because of Covid 19. But not even taking notice of potential guests for 10 minutes or more and then saying that there is no free space is inappropriate. The service at the table is ok, but very impersonal.

Awesome experience. We had the rosemary-roasted pork cheeks on red wine sauce reduction and the veal goulash and finished with the best home made apple strudel we’ve had. The service was amazing, Brigitte was very special. We will go back again for sure.

A very nice rustic restaurant with friendly hospitality and excellent food ... a must-see in Monschau!

Went in with high expectations, female owner was moaning on the phone when I made my reservation. This very odd, I did not ask something very weird other than to eat. Service on the table was not warm or welcoming. But paying 47 euro for two average size schnitzels, one bowl of fries and two beers feels unfair. Schnitzels were very flat meat. Nothing special in flavour, no sauce, small salade. Still hungry when we left. Cannot recommend this place in anyway. Step up your game.

Dined here together with my wife. Personally from what was open on weekdays in monschau we found this best restaurant. The menu was not large, but the selection looked good and tasted delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and somewhat old-fashioned, but that also had something. The lady in the service was very welcoming and helpful. It can fill up quickly here and making a reservation seems convenient to me. If I go to Monschau again I will definitely dine here again. Fat fine everyone👍🏻

Yesterday evening, after a beautiful day, eat here. We were 6 people and all have a nice meal. A small soup, as an appetizer in advance, was certainly to be appreciated. The hostess was very friendly and attentive. The tasty juice soup with cheese tasted very nice. The main courses were all equally tasty, refined and cared for. The interior is finished with a lot of wood and belongs to the area and gives a cozy feeling. The restaurant was full of satisfied customers. And the toilets were also clean, important detail. Definitely recommended if you pass in Monschau.

Not very friendly, lot of things on te menu unavailable

Decided to give this place a try for lunch and even though we were after lunch hours they accommodated us. We speak English and little German but the hostess ended up speaking English which was helpful. I highly recommend. Great food and beer. The pepper soup included with the meal was amazing. I would eat here again if I was in the area. Fries were perfectly cooked.

A guy from a bakery shop across the street strongly recommended this restaurant. We had ribs and a pork fillet with mustard sauce. Super nice and filling. The landlady was friendly. Oh and their amuse is something not to miss. We would totally come back.

I did’t expect this but the food here was delicious. We got a small tomato soup as appetiser which was really outstanding. And the plain fried trout was very rich in taste!

Amazing food prepared properly and served professionally. Nice atmosphere and staff.

Cute little restaurant with nice furniture and such. Food was very tasty, with the schnitzel being a highlight. The breading was terrific. Service was a little awkward, bit possibly due to the language barrier. They had some local beers, which I was happy to try as well.
